Tell Me Your Dreams by Sidney Sheldon - The Review

Tell Me Your Dreams

The first time I picked up this book, I was obsessed with it even though I understood just 20% of it because I was just 10
but reading it for like 5 times now. I can't still get enough of it.
Its central plot is about a lady by the name Ashley Peterson who had a multiple personalities Disorder also known as MPD
Multiple personalities Disorder simply mean the presence of one or more personalities in a body.  Putting it in layman's language. It is having 3 different people living in the same body with different personalities,  accent and even nationality.
Using an example to illustrate,  I am Tabitha who is a girl that dislike football and is a Nigerian.  A Thelma can exist in me who is from Australia and has an Australian accent and loves football.
There can exist up to 50 personalities in a person at a time.  The beautiful thing about this is a personality can take over anytime with every other personality suspended,
Research has shown that this is mainly caused by trauma.
So with a little explanation on MDP,  Ashley was a lady that works in a computer Company known as "Global Computer Graphics" she is a daughter of a well known and renowned heart mini surgeon by the name of Steven Petterson,  she lost her mum when she was young.
And the thrilling part is that she have 2 other personality inside her by the name of Toni Prescott and Allette Peters
Toni Prescott was birthed in London and has a British accent,  she loves winter sports which Ashley dislikes and she has a flare for men and she loves clubbing and was the life of the party
Allette Peters was birthed in Rome and has a musical Italian accent,  she loves art and would have made a good artist.  She is an easy going personality.
Toni was responsible for 4 male murders which she did in a grand style by castrating them and even marred one.
The twist of the story started when all murders was linked to Ashley Petterson who wasn't responsible for murders but it was the personality in her who was.  With no solid evidence to backup her innocence.  Her Father,  Steven called in a lawyer,  David Singer whose mother he saved years back to take the case up in court,  although he wasn't a criminal lawyer but after much persuasion and a feeling of debt to Steven,  he took on the case.  It wasn't an easy one but at the end of the novel,  he finally won having found a way to show the whole court the three personalities that exist in the same Ashely.
These personalities were birthed from a sexual abuse from Ashley father,  Steven.

It is a great novel written by an enlightened mind,  it is addictive and informative.  At least I got to know about MPD from it.  Please read it It worth a read

Thank you
