The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell

The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth

If you are into personal growth you probably aware of the concepts in this book, but it can be a good refresher & you will likely get some fresh & valuable takeaways. It was the Law of The Ladder that your character should be the foundation of your achievements.
That's a much-needed remainder & put things into the right perspective: first of all, it's who you are. Then comes the habit & then eventually achievements.

Law 1. The Law of Intentionality:

You don't just grow by chance, you must be intentional & deliberate about it.

Law 2. The Law of Awareness:

You can't improve if you don't know yourself - your strengths & weaknesses. The law of awareness says the more you know yourself, the more you grow, & vice-versa.

Law 3. The Law of Mirror:

To effectively work on yourself, you must first believe you're worth the effort. That means getting rid of self-limiting beliefs & developing high self-esteem.

Law 4. The Law of Reflection:

Do take & schedule time to reflect -meditate on yourself, your lessons learned & your next steps.

Law 5. The Law of Consistency:

What will really make you grow in the long run is consistency. The author says most people don't even show up & it's very easy to beat them.

Law 6. The Law of Environment:

The people & the environment around you are major contributors (or detractors) of your growth. Make sure the people & the environment around you are not pulling you down but helping you up.

Law 7. The Law of Design:

You must look at your growth seriously. Look at it as a mission & design your plans to make it happen.

Law 8. The Law of Pain:

Unpleasant but true, no pain, no gain. The author says that it's good management of bad experiences that leads to the biggest growth.

Law 9. The Law of The Ladder:

Basically, it says that everything you build rest on the foundation of your character -who you are. If you go high without a solid foundation of character, you're on shakier & shakier foundation.

Law 10. The of Rubber Band:

If you're not stretching yourself, you're not growing. Look for change, look for growth opportunities.

Law 11. The Law of Trade Offs:

To achieve your full potential you must be willing to sacrifice something. You can also name this law, the Law of Sacrifice.

Law 12. The Law of Curiosity:

Growth is fueled by questions & curiosity. To keep growing, you needs to be thirsty about knowing more & more.

Law 13. The Law of Modeling:

This lay says one should find a mentor & look for a coach who has already been where you are going. They will help you grow quicker by showing you the & pointing out your mistakes.

Law 14. The Law of Expansion:

Never for one think there's a limit to your growth & expansion. It doesn't matter what you have done or achieved, you can always do more.

Law 15. The Law of Contribution:

The greatest joy in life is gotten through contribution. As you grow yourself, help others to grow as well.
